Google has revealed that it will be incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into the Chrome web browser to make it easier to use. These additions to Chrome are part of a wider move by Google to incorporate AI in its apps. The company has said that this is just the beginning.

Three new features will be introduced, including a tab organizer that suggests ways to group open tabs by topic, a text editor that can help draft text for reviews and social media posts and customizable themes generated by AI.

All of these features are experimental and must be enabled through the settings menu by turning on the “Experimental AI” toggle, Google notes in a blog post.

What new features is Google Chrome getting?

The Tab Organizer feature is designed to make managing multitasking simple. Chrome will suggest and create tab groups based on open tabs, which can be particularly helpful when working on several things at the same time.

For instance, when planning a trip, researching and shopping. Let’s be honest, here – we all have too many tabs open at any given moment.

The AI theme creator aims to make browser customization effortless. Users can generate custom themes based on a chosen subject, mood, visual style, and color.

Finally, the AI writing assistant uses machine learning power to help users write with more confidence on the web. The tool will help users craft well-written reviews, RSVPs, or inquiries about specific topics.

To try out these new features, follow these steps:

 1. Sign into Chrome.
 2. Click on the three-dot menu and navigate to Settings.
 3. Go to the Experimental AI page.
 4. Test out the new features.

In the future, Google intends to integrate its Gemini model, other AI tools, as well as its Bard assistant into Chrome. It’s going to be interesting to see how this will change the browser and how users will learn to interact with AI.

If successful, these AI-powered features could improve users’ web experiences. On one hand, the text editor, for instance, can be helpful for people to find their words better, but AI-generated content is far from perfect or error-free.

The post What to expect at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024: S24 and more appeared first on KnowTechie.

]]>
At the moment of writing this article, we don’t have any official confirmation regarding what Samsung has planned to unveil at its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, set for January 17

However, from numerous rumors, leaks, and teasers, we were able to make a few educated guesses. While we are certain about a few of these, like the Galaxy S24 series, we are not so certain about the rest.

However, this year, Samsung is flexing its big AI muscles. So, we expect the event to be AI-heavy, with Samsung showcasing how its generative AI works and how it works alongside the latest Galaxy devices with the most current hardware.

If you don’t want to go too far away, you can catch the live stream right here, but scroll down to read about what to expect from the event.

The Galaxy S24 series, duh!

If we are guessing what Samsung plans to showcase in the coming Galaxy Unpacked, the Galaxy S24 series should be the very first pick.

Even most of Samsung’s promotional materials highlight the Galaxy S24 series handset and the features they are bringing this year.

So, the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra – all will be unveiled at the January 17 event.

From the rumors so far, we can expect a number of hardware upgrades on the Galaxy S24 handsets over their predecessors, the Galaxy S23 series.

The S24 Ultra is rumored to sport titanium-made sides like the iPhone 15 Pro, while the vanilla S24 and S24 Plus will get thinner bezels.

According to a recent leak, it also seems the S24 Ultra has ditched the curved display in favor of a flatter one. There are also a few more design tweaks.

In terms of the specs, the upcoming Galaxy S handsets are expected to be powered by Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chips, depending on the model and region.

More specifically, the S24 Ultra is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy in every region, while the vanilla S24 and S24 Plus are expected to feature Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2400 chipset almost everywhere except for the US.

The cameras for the Galaxy S24 series are expected to be in line with what came before – the Galaxy S23 series.

Samsung is expected to tweak the software to improve the result. However, it’s the S24 Ultra’s cameras that are going to massive changes.

The company is rumored to ditch the 10MP shooter with 10x optical zoom and adopt a 50MP shooter with 5x optical zoom capability. A 10x digital crop is also on the plate.

If Samsung ends up going this route, the photo quality will improve, but the optical range will be half of what it used to be.

Galaxy AI

Samsung Galaxy AI is coming

Apart from its flagship Galaxy handsets, the Galaxy AI should be the primary focus of the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.

After the advent of AI, Samsung also wants a piece of it, and according to numerous leaks and rumors, the company is betting heavily on AI this year.

By the looks of it, Samsung immediately wants to outperform the Google Pixel 8 series with its AI-powered features. In addition, the Korean company is taking a cue from Google and offering a feature that is similar to the Magic Editor functionality offered by Google.

The function on the Galaxy S24 handsets works similarly. You can move subjects or erase unwanted objects with it. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Samsung will unveil more Galaxy AI-powered features at the Galaxy Unpacked.

Most of these features would require an internet connection and probably a Samsung account.

One UI 6.1

Samsung is also set to launch the One UI 6.1 alongside the Galaxy S24 series. The company has already launched its One UI 6.0 build on its current flagship devices.

However, the upcoming flagships will inaugurate the One UI 6.1, which is to bring AI-powered features to the S24 devices with other additional improvements.

However, we are not sure if older Galaxy devices, like the Galaxy S23 series, will have access to these AI improvements.

Galaxy Fit 3

The image shows three Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 smartwatches with different display functions like sleep tracking, step counting, and heart rate monitoring in various colors.

Samsung is also actively working on bringing back its fitness tracker line after being absent for over three years.

There have been numerous rumors and leaks, providing a good deal of details and looking at the device’s official renders.

In terms of the design, the leaked renders have revealed the Galaxy Fit 3 remains the same as its predecessor, with a squarish dial, a physical button, and a mic on the right side.

The renders have also revealed the company’s next fitness tracker in three colorways – Black, Grey, and Pink/Rose Gold. However, we can’t say for sure if the device will be available in the mentioned colorways only.

Leaks have also revealed the device is expected to ship with replaceable silicone straps and a bigger 200mAh battery.

One of the leaks has revealed the possibility of the Galaxy Fit 3’s launch in early 2024. However, it didn’t explicitly say anything about the device’s presence at the coming Galaxy Unpacked event, but the chances are high.

Samsung Galaxy Book 4, Galaxy Buds 3 & Galaxy Ring

The Samsung Galaxy Ring has been rumored for some time. It would be the company’s first smart ring, and like other smart rings, the Galaxy Ring is expected to come with several fitness and wellness tracking features.

These are likely to include keeping an eye on your step count, the distance you have covered, monitoring your heart rate and blood pressure, and more.

There’s a high chance Samsung may unveil the Galaxy Book 4, the next generation of its portable laptop series at the coming Galaxy Unpacked event.

The company has already launched these laptops in its home country Korea. This time, the Galaxy Book 4 series consists of 5 laptops: Galaxy Book 4, Galaxy Book 4 360, Galaxy Book 4 Pro, Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360, and Galaxy Book 4 Ultra.

While the design remains mostly the same, the company has made numerous hardware upgrades, including NVIDIA RTX 40 series graphics card and Intel Core 9 processors.

Lastly, Samsung was also rumored to be working on the Galaxy Buds 3. While a new Galaxy Buds would be an excellent addition to the Galaxy Unpacked event, we are pretty sure we will not see it on January 17.

How to Watch Galaxy Unpacked 2024?

The event is scheduled for January 17th, and the company is all set to unveil the next Galaxy S series phones in San Jose, California.

We have a guide on how to watch the 2024 Galaxy Unpacked event, but in short: the event will stream on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom, and Samsung’s Official YouTube channel. You can watch it down below.

In addition, Samsung has opened up reservations for the Galaxy S24 series smartphones. Interested folks can save $50 when pre-orders begin.

Samsung has also kept the reservation process simple. You only need to provide your name and email address, with the option to provide your phone number. But the number is not necessary.

Email notifications will be sent when pre-orders open, and potential additional incentives remain undisclosed.

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event is all set for this week, where the famed tech company is launching the Galaxy S24 series

However, just days before the launch, we have a few last-minute leaks, courtesy of Android Headlines

According to the publication, they have come across a few official Galaxy S24 promo images revealing some astonishing details about the device, including Samsung’s renewed update policy for the new flagships and Galaxy AI details.

Seven major Android updates for Galaxy S24 – where have we heard that before?

According to the outlet, Samsung is planning seven years of major Android updates for the Galaxy S24 handsets – matching what Google has done for its Pixel handsets.

However, the significance of this leak is far greater if it becomes true. It means the Galaxy handsets will get Android updates up until the release of Android 21.

We speculate that seven years of major Android updates means the S24 handsets will also receive seven years of security updates from the company to keep up.

Up until now, Google was the only company offering seven significant Android updates with its Pixel 8 series. It seems Samsung is gunning for Google on more than one front.

However, it is unclear at the moment if the Korean company will extend the same update policy for its older Galaxy flagships, e.g., the Galaxy S23 series. It seems unlikely, though.

Get ready to pay for the Galaxy AI

In addition, the leak reveals that Samsung may hide the Galaxy AI features behind a paywall – maybe not immediately, but at some point in the not-so-distant future.

The Galaxy S24 lineup has been rumored to be integrated with the Galaxy AI smarts, resulting in features like Live Translate and Pixel-like photo editing tools

According to the leaked promo material, the Galaxy AI features will be free of charge until at least 2025 on supported Galaxy devices.

While the leaked materials don’t say it explicitly, it seems like Samsung does have plans to charge for certain advanced Galaxy AI features after 2024.

Of course, all this is just speculation at the moment. We need to wait for the company to make confirmation before jumping the gun.

Also, there’s a possibility that users may have to sign in to their Samsung accounts to use some AI features on the S24 lineup. But, no word on which features will have this requirement.

The post AI’s rise could put 40% of global jobs at risk appeared first on KnowTechie.

]]>
Hold on to your office chairs, folks – the International Monetary Fund (IMF) just dropped a bombshell: 40% of jobs globally are on the artificial intelligence (AI) hit list.

In a blog post, IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva urged governments to knit a social safety net and roll out retraining programs.

She’s not playing fortune teller here; she’s basing this on hard data ahead of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, where the elite swap business cards and hot topics.

“In most scenarios, AI will likely worsen overall inequality, a troubling trend that policymakers must proactively address to prevent the technology from further stoking social tensions,” she wrote In her statement preceding the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.

Davos, usually more famous for its slopes than its seminars, is already decked out in AI ads as it preps to host the summit. It’s like Silicon Valley swapped zip codes for a week.

Heavy hitters like Sam Altman, the big brain behind ChatGPT-maker OpenAI, and his wingman, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, are set to take the stage.

The agenda? A debate on whether AI is the new steam engine powering our Fourth Industrial Revolution. Spoiler alert: it’s complicated.

AI is expected to boost businesses and worker productivity in some ways but could give the pink slip to others.

Georgieva, echoing the collective wisdom of many tech pundits, suggests the impact will be felt more sharply in the plush offices of advanced economies than in the fields of emerging markets. So, if you’re a white-collar worker, it might be time to look over your shoulder.

imf data on 40% of jobs globablly are at risk of being taken over by AI
Image: IMF

In developed nations, up to 60% of jobs could be AI’s playground

Sure, about half might get a productivity pat on the back, but the other half? They’re potentially looking at the business end of AI’s efficiency scythe. We could be talking lower wages, less hiring, or, in true dramatic fashion, jobs going poof.

Turning our gaze to emerging markets and developing countries, the numbers are a bit different – 40% and 26% of jobs could get an AI makeover, respectively.

But here’s the kicker: many of these spots don’t have the tech or the training to ride the AI wave, which means the inequality gap could get a steroid boost.

Georgieva waved the red flag on the potential for social unrest, too.

Imagine the young guns using AI as a cheat code for productivity while the seasoned pros can’t seem to catch a break. It’s the perfect recipe for a workplace drama and not the fun kind with cake on Fridays.

Still, it’s not all doom and gloom. Remember how ChatGPT became the talk of the town last year at WEF Davos?

Yeah, I don’t either, but that was just the appetizer. AI has since become more mainstream, and the cash is flowing in like never before. Despite the reshuffling of the workplace, AI might be the wild card we need.

The bottom line? AI is set to remodel our economic landscape – the challenge is to ensure it’s a renovation that benefits us all, not just the select few with the fanciest tools.

The post AI challenges in 2024: Insights from 3 leading AI researchers appeared first on KnowTechie.

]]>
2023 was an inflection point in the evolution of artificial intelligence and its role in society.

The year saw the emergence of generative AI, which moved the technology from the shadows to center stage in the public imagination. It also saw boardroom drama in an AI startup dominate the news cycle for several days.

And it saw the Biden administration issue an executive order and the European Union pass a law aimed at regulating AI, moves perhaps best described as attempting to bridle a horse that’s already galloping along.

We’ve assembled a panel of AI scholars to look ahead to 2024 and describe the issues AI developers, regulators and everyday people are likely to face, and to give their hopes and recommendations.

Casey Fiesler, Associate Professor of Information Science, University of Colorado Boulder

2023 was the year of AI hype. Regardless of whether the narrative was that AI was going to save the world or destroy it, it often felt as if visions of what AI might be someday overwhelmed the current reality.

And though I think that anticipating future harms is a critical component of overcoming ethical debt in tech, getting too swept up in the hype risks creating a vision of AI that seems more like magic than a technology that can still be shaped by explicit choices.

But taking control requires a better understanding of that technology.

One of the major AI debates of 2023 was around the role of ChatGPT and similar chatbots in education.

This time last year, most relevant headlines focused on how students might use it to cheat and how educators were scrambling to keep them from doing so – in ways that often do more harm than good.

However, as the year went on, there was a recognition that a failure to teach students about AI might put them at a disadvantage, and many schools rescinded their bans.

I don’t think we should be revamping education to put AI at the center of everything, but if students don’t learn about how AI works, they won’t understand its limitations – and therefore how it is useful and appropriate to use and how it’s not.

This isn’t just true for students. The more people understand how AI works, the more empowered they are to use it and to critique it.

So, my prediction, or perhaps my hope, for 2024 is that there will be a huge push to learn.

In 1966, Joseph Weizenbaum, the creator of the ELIZA chatbot, wrote that machines are “often sufficient to dazzle even the most experienced observer,” but that once their “inner workings are explained in language sufficiently plain to induce understanding, its magic crumbles away.”

The challenge with generative artificial intelligence is that, in contrast to ELIZA’s very basic pattern matching and substitution methodology, it is much more difficult to find language “sufficiently plain” to make the AI magic crumble away.

I think it’s possible to make this happen. I hope that universities that are rushing to hire more technical AI experts put just as much effort into hiring AI ethicists. I hope that media outlets help cut through the hype. I hope that everyone reflects on their own uses of this technology and its consequences.

And I hope that tech companies listen to informed critiques in considering what choices continue to shape the future. Many of the challenges in the year ahead have to do with problems of AI that society is already facing.

Kentaro Toyama, Professor of Community Information, University of Michigan

In 1970, Marvin Minsky, the AI pioneer and neural network skeptic, told Life magazine, “In from three to eight years we will have a machine with the general intelligence of an average human being.”

With the singularity, the moment artificial intelligence matches and begins to exceed human intelligence – not quite here yet – it’s safe to say that Minsky was off by at least a factor of 10. It’s perilous to make predictions about AI.

Still, making predictions for a year out doesn’t seem quite as risky. What can be expected of AI in 2024?

First, the race is on! Progress in AI had been steady since the days of Minsky’s prime, but the public release of ChatGPT in 2022 kicked off an all-out competition for profit, glory, and global supremacy.

Expect more powerful AI, in addition to a flood of new AI applications.

The big technical question is how soon and how thoroughly AI engineers can address the current Achilles’ heel of deep learning – what might be called generalized hard reasoning, things like deductive logic.

Will quick tweaks to existing neural-net algorithms be sufficient, or will it require a fundamentally different approach, as neuroscientist Gary Marcus suggests?

Armies of AI scientists are working on this problem, so I expect some headway in 2024.

Meanwhile, new AI applications are likely to result in new problems, too. You might soon start hearing about AI chatbots and assistants talking to each other, having entire conversations on your behalf but behind your back.

Some of it will go haywire – comically, tragically or both.

Deepfakes, AI-generated images and videos that are difficult to detect are likely to run rampant despite nascent regulation, causing more sleazy harm to individuals and democracies 1. everywhere. And there are likely to be new classes of AI calamities that wouldn’t have been possible even five years ago.

Speaking of problems, the very people sounding the loudest alarms about AI – like Elon Musk and Sam Altman – can’t seem to stop themselves from building ever more powerful AI.

I expect them to keep doing more of the same. They’re like arsonists calling in the blaze they stoked themselves, begging the authorities to restrain them.

And along those lines, what I most hope for 2024 – though it seems slow in coming – is stronger AI regulation, at national and international levels.

Anjana Susarla, Professor of Information Systems, Michigan State University

In the year since the unveiling of ChatGPT, the development of generative AI models is continuing at a dizzying pace.

In contrast to ChatGPT a year back, which took in textual prompts as inputs and produced textual output, the new class of generative AI models are trained to be multi-modal, meaning the data used to train them comes not only from textual sources such as Wikipedia and Reddit, but also from videos on YouTube, songs on Spotify, and other audio and visual information.

With the new generation of multi-modal large language models (LLMs) powering these applications, you can use text inputs to generate not only images and text but also audio and video.

Companies are racing to develop LLMs that can be deployed on a variety of hardware and in a variety of applications, including running an LLM on your smartphone.

The emergence of these lightweight LLMs and open source LLMs could usher in a world of autonomous AI agents – a world that society is not necessarily prepared for.

These advanced AI capabilities offer immense transformative power in applications ranging from business to precision medicine.

My chief concern is that such advanced capabilities will pose new challenges for distinguishing between human-generated content and AI-generated content, as well as pose new types of algorithmic harms.

The deluge of synthetic content produced by generative AI could unleash a world where malicious people and institutions can manufacture synthetic identities and orchestrate large-scale misinformation.

A flood of AI-generated content primed to exploit algorithmic filters and recommendation engines could soon overpower critical functions such as information verification, information literacy and serendipity provided by search engines, social media platforms and digital services.

The Federal Trade Commission has warned about fraud, deception, infringements on privacy and other unfair practices enabled by the ease of AI-assisted content creation.

While digital platforms such as YouTube have instituted policy guidelines for disclosure of AI-generated content, there’s a need for greater scrutiny of algorithmic harms from agencies like the FTC and lawmakers working on privacy protections such as the American Data Privacy & Protection Act.

A new bipartisan bill introduced in Congress aims to codify algorithmic literacy as a key part of digital literacy.

With AI increasingly intertwined with everything people do, it is clear that the time has come to focus not on algorithms as pieces of technology but to consider the contexts the algorithms operate in: people, processes and society.

We are living in the age of AI, and CES has always been the go-to place to check out the most weird and conceptual devices the modern tech world has to offer.

So, enter Rabbit Inc., an AI startup based out of Santa Monica that has launched a pocket-sized mobile device called the Rabbit R1, threatening the yet to retail Humane AI Pin.

What is Rabbit R1?

The R1 from Rabbit is a natural language-driven standalone device sporting a touch screen.

It also has a push-to-talk button, an analog scroll wheel, a microphone for voice commands, speakers for response, and a Computer Vision-enabled 360-degree rotational camera called the Rabbit Eye.

Behind the scenes, we have a MediaTek Helio P35 processor powering the device, paired with 4GB RAM, 128GB storage, a USB-C port, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a 4G-enabled SIM card slot.

The design has been made in collaboration with Teenage Engineering, the same firm that helped with the design on Nothing phones, which is why you may find the Rabbit R1 a bit familiar.

While the specs list looks decent, the question remains – what does it do exactly?

The demo on the startup’s website shows it best. You can also watch the demo below.

Based on the video, the Rabbit OS runs the R1, a Large Action Model (LAM)-based operating system.

The OS helps you navigate your apps and use them even quicker than your standard smartphone. However, only a few popular apps seem to be supported at the moment.

According to the company, the device’s foundational model is capable of learning user intention and behavior when using specific apps and then mimicking them reliably and quickly.

For example, you can link Spotify with the R1. You can not only play your favorite music with just a voice command, but you can also ask the AI to perform contextual tasks like playing other songs from the same album.

In addition, you can ask R1 to tell you who wrote the song’s lyrics, the composer’s name, and more.

It’s like you are talking to ChatGPT, but the company says R1 responds faster. According to the Rabbit Founder and CEO Jesse Lyu,

Rabbit is now building towards an intuitive app-free experience with the power of AI. Large Language Models, like ChatGPT, showed the possibility of understanding natural language with AI; our Large Action Model takes it one step further: it doesn’t just generate text in response to human input – it generates actions on behalf of users to help us get things done.

Rabbit R1 price and availability

The Rabbit R1 is now available for pre-sale at $199. In the US, the R1 order will start shipping in March. The company says it won’t need a subscription, unlike the Humane AI Pin.

The AI will also be trained at launch to work with only the most popular applications. However, in the future, the device will get an experimental capability that will enable users to train their own “Rabbits” to work with specific applications and tasks.

Galaxy S24 Ultra may get better zoom despite missing 10x lens https://knowtechie.com/samsung-galaxy-s24-ultra-better-zoom-photos/ https://knowtechie.com/samsung-galaxy-s24-ultra-better-zoom-photos/#respond Mon, 08 Jan 2024 14:22:22 +0000 https://knowtechie.com/?p=355100 A whole lot of AI for the next Galaxy flagship.

Samsung is expected to drop the Galaxy S24 Ultra with a bunch of AI features in the coming Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event, slated for January 17.

The company is also rumored to remove the famed 10X zoom leans from the device this year. However, despite the elimination of the 10X zoom camera, a leaker claims that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will take better zoom photos than its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra

The leak comes from the reliable leaker, Ice Universe, whose X/Twitter post claims that “taking pictures at 10x zoom, S24U is better than S23U.”

A bold statement indeed. But apparently, it’s an accurate one, as the statement comes after taking a peek at the actual viewing samples from the device even before the software was completed.

What’s the secret behind Galaxy S24 Ultra?

We were worried about the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s performance when a previous leak revealed that the company was going forward with the removal of the 10X optical camera

While Ice Universe’s post supports the older claim, it also establishes that the S24 Ultra’s zoom photography is superior to its predecessor.

Samsung has been praised for the Galaxy S21, S22 Ultra, and S23 Ultra’s superb zoom performance using optical zoom from the 3x and 10x lenses.

However, Samsung has decided to go with a 5x telephoto lens alongside the 3x, standard, and ultrawide shooters.

It’s the dawn of AI, and we speculate that is the answer behind Samsung’s major leap. The company is relying heavily on computational photography, and it could get even better as AI improves.

Take a look at Google as an example. The search engine company has been boasting improvements to its Super Res Zoom for the Pixel phones for the last few years.

However, if Samsung is improving zoom photos with artificial intelligence, AI will likely be the primary focus of the Galaxy Unpacked event, which the company has been teasing for the past few days.

Free reservations are open with a $50 credit when you pre-order a Galaxy S24 handset, which will last until January 17.

What is voice customization?

Voice customization is the process of designing and altering digital voices to meet specific requirements. This arms you with the ability to tailor a voice’s gender, age, accent, and even the strength of the accent.

With ElevenLabs, the extent of customization is quite broad, letting you craft almost any kind of voice that you can imagine.

When you’re dialing in the details of your custom voice, you can assess a generated sample before adding it to your collection. This isn’t a one-shot deal, either.

You can tweak and refine until you get it just right, ensuring that the voice closely matches your intent or the personality of the character it’s meant to represent.

Benefits of voice customization

So why go through the trouble of customizing a voice? For starters, voice customization lets you add a unique and memorable element to your digital content.

Not only does this set you apart, but it also creates a distinct brand voice that can resonate with your audience on a deeper level.

In practical terms, flexibility is a significant advantage.

Whether you’re developing a game and need a host of diverse character voices or producing a podcast and want to introduce a special guest without wrangling schedules, custom voices make it manageable.

You’re no longer bound to generic options; the sound you envision can now become an audible reality.

Custom voices also contribute to inclusivity, allowing for a more authentic representation of different languages and dialects, which can be particularly impactful in global markets.

The ability to fine-tune clarity and stability further ensures that your message is not only heard but understood—crystal clear, without any misinterpretation due to poor audio quality or mismatched tonality.

So, can ElevenLabs create custom voices?

Short Answer: Absolutely, with ElevenLabs, creating custom voices is not just a possibility; it’s the core functionality that sets the service apart.

Let’s show you how you can make these voices your own.

 • Start by uploading voice samples—your voice could even be the foundation for what comes next.
 • Once uploaded, ElevenLabs employs AI to analyze the intricacies of your voice sample and crafts a digital voice that matches your desired settings.

Crafting a voice is not limited to mimicry. You have the power to adjust various characteristics, such as tone, pitch, and speaking style, to fit the specific needs of your content.

Whether you’re aiming for a comforting narrational tone for your YouTube videos or an energetic and dramatic flair for your game characters, ElevenLabs makes it achievable.

The process is straightforward and user-friendly, ensuring you spend less time grappling with technicalities and more time producing compelling audio content that stands out.

Data collection and analysis

When you’re setting out to create a custom voice using ElevenLabs, the first step is to collect a good amount of your original voice data.

You’re looking at uploading 30 minutes to 3 hours of high-quality voice samples. This wide range ensures that the AI has enough material to analyze and understand the distinct patterns of your voice.

Once uploaded, the software conducts a thorough analysis of your voice’s unique attributes, such as pitch, tone, and inflections.

This data lays the groundwork for the next stage – modeling your custom voice.

Voice modeling and training

With the analysis complete, ElevenLabs moves onto the modeling phase, wherein a dedicated AI model is designed to mimic your voice.

Here’s where the technology gets interesting: the software doesn’t just make a generic copy; it trains the model on your specific voice data.

This involves complex algorithms that dig through the intricacies of your voice to create a clone that’s not only close but nearly indistinguishable from your actual voice.

If you’re working with a common accent or tone, Instant Voice Cloning might suffice.

However, for more distinctive voices or specific needs, Professional Voice Cloning comes into play to ensure the highest accuracy.

Fine-tuning and testing

Once your voice model is trained, it isn’t just pushed out the door. It undergoes a meticulous fine-tuning process.

For example, you can adjust various characteristics like stability and clarity to meet the particular requirements of your project. Testing is an integral part of the procedure.

You’ll have the chance to listen to generated samples and make adjustments to the voice’s gender, age, and accent until it fulfills your vision.

After you’re satisfied, you can deploy your custom voice to create content that is both engaging and authentic to your personal or brand identity.

Examples of custom voices created by Elevenlabs

When diving into the realm of personalized speech, you’re not limited to just mimicking existing voices. ElevenLabs’ Voice Lab opens up a world where you can craft unique vocal identities from scratch.

Imagine engineering a voice with the warm timbre of a wise elder or the bright, upbeat tone of an enthusiastic youth. With tools to tweak gender, age, accent, and more, the options are truly vast.

Take, for instance, a voice that blends the authoritative tone of a seasoned newscaster with a hint of a British accent.

Or maybe a character voice modeled after a sci-fi alien species that you’ve dreamt up for your latest audio drama.

These are the sorts of custom voices other users like you have already created using ElevenLabs, bringing an impressive level of authenticity to their projects.

Users have welcomed the ability to design and assess voices before making them a part of their arsenal. Each creation, once added to your voice collection, can be fine-tuned even further.

You can adjust stability and clarity, ensuring the end result is just right for anything from a serious documentary narration to a whimsical podcast.

ElevenLabs’ bread and butter is creating custom voices

Your voice can be more than just a fleeting sound—it can be an asset, a digital clone, ready to echo across various platforms, bending to your creative will.

But remember this: your voice, with all its unique inflections and tones, can now be captured, cloned, and unleashed in ways that were once unimaginable.

With ElevenLabs, it seems the only limit to how we can use our voices is the boundary of our own creativity. So go ahead, make your voice heard—literally—in a whole new way.
