We are less than 24 hours away from Apple\u2019s \u201cWonderlust\u201d event, where the Cupertino-based company is all set to unveil the new iPhone 15<\/a> and the iPhone 15 Pro. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are already quite certain of what to expect from the upcoming event. However, we have a last-minute rumor courtesy of MacRumors<\/em><\/a>, indicating Apple may also discontinue its silicone accessories in addition to its leather leather cases<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While MacRumors didn\u2019t mention its sources, the report suggests Apple\u2019s decision to eliminate the silicone accessories \u201cis not expected to be imminent, instead taking place via a more gradual transition whereby existing models are not refreshed with new color options.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision to remove the silicone is due to environmental and sustainability reasons. Apple is also eliminating leather for the same reasons. In addition, the silicone accessories will be replaced with those made from more eco-friendly materials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple already sells a wide collection of accessories made of silicone rubber and fluoroelastomer materials, including Apple Watch bands, iPhone cases, AirTag accessories, and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, eliminating the silicone material altogether will be a far more difficult task than eliminating leather, so Apple wants to move to a different material gradually.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
